My new love...

Pumpkin Spice Latte -
a delicious blend of pumpkin and traditional fall spice flavors combined with our signature espresso and freshly steamed milk, and topped with whipped cream and pumpkin pie spices.

The above description is taken right from Starbuck's website. What they fogot to add in the description is that it is the most delicious drink you'll ever taste and you WILL become addicted and think about it everyday.

Happy Saturday!

I'll bet if I could see the top of my head I'd find a few gray hairs up there. I'm not going to look though - ignorance is bliss. Take a look at the photo below. There she is, sitting in her dresser drawer. Pulled it out all on her own, crawled in, proceeded to throw everything in it onto the floor and was very proud of herself. The picture shows her trying to crawl out once she realized that she was caught. Oh, and see the little black item on the floor? That's a pair of my underwear. Lord only knows where she got those from. She empties the contents of that bottom drawer on a daily basis, sometimes more than once.

I changed her diaper this morning and in the 20 seconds it took me to get up and throw it into the garbage, she was able to race into her bedroom, rip the diaper off and pee on her floor. Brand new carpet and all. She wears me out!

It's a good thing I'm able to recoup by doing things like this:

Hanging with friends is always a good way to re-charge for another busy day.

Trouble on two legs, part 2

And the madness continues...

We've been enjoying these last few days of summer! Lots of bike riding, park playing, and walks around the neighborhood. And of course the never-ending home projects are still a big part of our lives (read: taking over our lives!). A new front porch, possibly deck, is the next project on the list, which I'll say is a must-do. My handyman will no doubt do a fabulous job and this place should be looking good, oh, about the time we have to move!! I hope not. It would be a shame to not be able to enjoy the fruits of our - I mean his - labor.

Trouble on two legs...

Just look at this face...cute, isn't it?! And thank God for that because this lil' girl is testing my patience! She is full of energy - never stops talking and is constantly on the go. She's trouble on two legs and I'm not too proud to say that I've cried 'uncle!' many times this week. She wears me out.

I've found this many, many times...

And this is the lock that I've had to place on the door heading to the downstairs. She figured out how to open the door and, well, that's just not good. Stairs and babies don't mix. There was a time about two weeks ago (before I knew she could open this door) when I went downstairs to grab the laundry. I got to the bottom of the stairs, looked up, and there she was. Standing at the top of the steps, door wide open, grinning from ear to ear and giggling at her proud-self. I about had a heart attack, thinking she could have tumbled down the stairs - and she could...she's fearless.

And in other news...here he is moments before we headed out the door for the second day of school. He asked if he could walk in by himself today and it made me kind of sad, you know? That he's getting so big and doesn't need me all the time.

First day of school!

Mason's first day of school was today. He kept asking me all day yesterday when it was going to be dark so that he could go to bed (because, apparently, going to bed makes the next day come that much faster!). He had a good day, despite a few tears when I tried to leave. Gotta love a male who isn't afraid to show his sensitive side in a room full of people!

He got over it quickly and went on to have a fabulous, fun day which he was excited to tell me about when Natalie and I picked him up.
