Happy Fall, ya'll!

Last weekend (October 18-19) we went to Madison, WI and spent all day/evening on Saturday at a surprise party for Chad's aunt. His mom, Mary, held the party at her house and, ironically, the party was held on her (Mary's) birthday. The decorations were fun and Halloween-themed since his aunt's actual b-day is on Halloween. The following pictures are of the kids having fun in a leaf pile that Aunt Kathy raked for them.

Natalie, Mason & Lacey having fun in the leaves...

Random pictures of the kids enjoying one of the last nice days of fall...

And a birthday party for Mason's friend, Samuel, who recently turned 5. The kids had a ton of fun painting small pumpkins (why did I not take pictures of that??), playing with eachother, and snacking on yummy food and cupcakes.

Life is good...

Continuing with the fall theme -

Mason's preschool took a trip to a small farm/pumpkin patch. Myself and a handful of other parents went along as drivers....here's a group shot.

Trying to get this many kids to look at the camera and smile was impossible. I took 4 pictures and they all look similar to this!

The family that owns the farm are selling pumpkins, gourds, indian corn, corn stalk bundles, and lots of pumpkins. I was SO excited to find huge corn stalk bundles for only $3/each! Every fall I think about getting corn stalks for the front of the house, but never do because they are always so expensive. Now I know where to go! Our little front step area looks super-cute with the corn stalks and pumpkins. I love fall!

And some news not fall-related, I finally got a mini-van! Yes, I'm fully aware that it should be illegal to be this excited about a mini-van. No one ever WANTS to own one, right?! I must admit, though, I'm in lurve with it. It. Is. Awesome. And it has a ton of cool features. We're taking it for a spin to Madison, WI this weekend. I've never been so excited for a car trip.

Fall!

I love fall. I love the decorations, the smell, the sweaters I can finally wear, the pumpkins, pumpkin spice lattes at Starbucks, the beautiful colors of all the changing leaves. There are so many things that I love about fall. I can't wait until the day when I have a big front porch that I can tie bundles of cornstalks on and deck it out for fall - pumpkins & mums come to mind.

Not much going on at the house of Carter. Mason loves preschool and Natalie is getting bigger. I want to go back to school and Chad wants to kill me for that. Haha! Chad got a promotion and a new position at work. We were relieved to find out that a move was not necessary.

Nothing exciting to write about so I'll leave you with a few pictures that I took while we were in Michigan last week:
